Welcome Fr. Alan Bower from Cross Catholic Outreach!

Father Alan Bower will be with us this coming weekend to celebrate our Masses and share his stories from working with Cross Catholic Outreach. Cross Catholic Outreach is a Catholic ministry that partners with bishops, priests, religious and lay workers to provide food, water, housing, education, orphan support, medical care, microenterprise and disaster relief — and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ — to the poorest of the poor in over 30 countries around the world.

Their mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.

Father Bower will speak at all Masses this weekend to share the stories of those he serves and to let us know how we can help in Cross’s mission.

Fr. Bower is a 28 year Navy veteran. He transitioned to the Naval Reserve as a Navy Chaplain the day of his ordination, May 20, 1989. He was recalled to active duty forDesert Shield/Storm (JAN-SEP 1991) and served the Marines at Camp LeJeune, NC. In 1997, his bishop released him for three (3) year period of active duty during which he served as Command Chaplain of Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Command Chaplain of the USMC landing craft/aircraft carrier USS WASP (LHD-1).

As an Outreach Priest he is able to see the difference Cross Catholic makes in serving the poor. He is inspired and motivated as a priest working with those in need. An inspiring and compassionate orator, Cross Catholic Outreach is proud to have Father Bower preach on behalf of those we serve — the poorest of the poor.
