Inquire Within: Becoming Catholic

Many of us come to ch

urch searching for a way to meet our spiritual needs or identify with a faith community. We are searching for more in our lives. You may just need to complete your sacraments of initiation.

To guide you on your search, you are invited to join our inquiry group. This group meets from 4-5:15 pm on Sunday just prior to the 5:30 pm Mass in the Upper Room of the Church.

We will begin our year with inquiry (asking questions), moving to the catechumenate (instruction), on to enlightenment (understanding), and finally mystagogy (study of the mysteries). This process of the Rite of Initiation for Adults (RCIA) guides those who are interested in becoming Catholic to an understanding of the faith so that they might choose to receive or complete the rites of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, which they will celebrate at the Easter Vigil.

If you feel called to learn more you are invited to come to an open house on Sunday, September 12 at 4pm in the Upper Room of the church. You will get the chance to meet the people who will journey with you lead by Father John Ulrich, S.M., Elizabeth Piper, and Charamie Dunlap.

To let us know you are coming go to www.olachurch.org/becoming-catholic-rcia or contact Elizabeth Piper, Director of Faith Formation, at epiper@olachurch.org.
