Help the Soupremes Feed the Homeless

The OLA Soupremes this year we will be continuing to support the Central Night Homeless Shelter in downtown Atlanta this winter season (Nov-Mar), but in a different way due to Covid-19. The shelter will be operating at a severely reduced capacity for at least the months of November and December but still proving meals to the homeless outside of the shelter.

We will be providing 50 meals each Tuesday night, but instead of a hot meal inside the shelter the men will be given a to-go box dinner, along with a bagged breakfast and lunch. As we are now providing two extra meals we asking for the support of our generous parish in various ways:

  • Please consider volunteering to help with the meal prep! We still need volunteers to help our cooking teams. This is also a great way to get service hours for school! Email Anne Marie (annemarieshulman@mac.com) or Jill (jilltermini@ups.com) to volunteer.

  • Please consider making a donation to the Serving the Poor Holy Thursday fund (Click here) which directly supports our ministry. As we now have two extra meals to provide any size donation is greatly appreciated!

  • If you have a Costco membership please consider donating Costco shop cards, as buying in bulk is very helpful for our ministry. Here’s a link to Costco Shop Cards if you are interested in donating these: (https://www.costco.com/costco-shop-card.product.10024438.html.) Please use the OLA address for your shipping address: OLA Catholic Church, 1350 Hearst Drive, Brookhaven, GA 30319. All Costco cards will be passed to our cooking teams.

  • Please pray for the homeless and the shelter volunteers this winter.
