COVID-19 Updates

Dear OLA Family,

Happy 2022! I hope that you have enjoyed this holiday season and that you new year is filled with peace, joy, and good health! Speaking of good health, Father Jim has asked me to reach out to you today out of concern for the surge in COVID-19 cases in our community. We have heard of dozens of families/individuals who have COVID in the parish - including all of our deacons (or their family members) who are sick except for one who is out of town. Due to this, please note the following: Masses Masses will be celebrated as per our normal schedule, but this may change depending on guidance we may receive from the Archbishop.

Masks: Everyone, including persons who are fully vaccinated, is strongly encouraged to wear a mask in the church or parish buildings. Use discretion when opting to not wear your mask and continue to practice appropriate social distancing. Anyone who is not vaccinated - including children over the age of 4 - must wear a mask.

Pew Cordoning and Spacing

The tabernacle transept section continues to have pews cordoned off. If you want to sit in this area you MUST wear a mask even if fully vaccinated.

We ask that when you arrive at Mass, you follow the ushers directions to sit every other pew in the sections where the cords are down.

Please social distance - 3 feet minimum distance from the other households in the pew.

Wellness

If you or a member of your household is feeling ill, do NOT come to Mass.

If you have been exposed to anyone who as tested positive for COVID-19 or has similiar symptons, do NOT come to Mass.

There is always a dispensation from attending Mass due to illness - not just because of COVID19 - so stay home and get well. In doing so you help our community stay healthy!

Be sure to join us via the Saturday 5pm Livestream on Facebook or later on YouTube.

Parish Office Closed The Parish Office will remain closed this entire week. Our Staff will work remotely Tuesday - Friday. Meetings and Events Cancelled this Week All In-Person Meetings and Events on campus this week are cancelled. Please meet via ZOOM if your ministry must meet. OLA Preschool and School Our schools are waiting instructions from the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. Please wait to hear from your schools for any updates. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Please know that these are not easy decisions to make. We know that some of you will receive this email with relief, while others will not. We, the clergy and staff, realize that not everyone in the community shares the same concerns with regard to COVID-19. As the situation with COVID-19 unfolds, procedures are subject to change. It is our responsibility to provide for the spiritual and pastoral needs of our parish community. That includes ensuring that we provide a safe, healthy environment and that all our members feel comfortable. We are doing our best in these uncertain and confusing times. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this very trying time. Please continue to bear with us. Thank you and God bless you, Anne Stephens, Communications Director
