A Christmas Message from Father Jim

My Dear Parishioners,

The Peace and Grace of the baby Jesus be with you!

What a year it has been! I am extremely grateful to you as you have proven how stouthearted in faith and hope you have been. During this Christmas season when we reflect on God’s love, we give thanks, gratitude, for the blessing God has given us. You have continued to strive in Worship, Education, and Service.

In Worship, as we could not socialize in the normal fashion, you have joined us for the live-streamed Masses. Our deacons and other volunteers have led us in livestreamed rosaries, Adoration/Evening Prayer, and prayer services.

In Education, our programs have met on-line through zoom meetings and online conferences. Our parish school of religion families have stepped up to create small groups for faith formation, and our Youth Ministry is able to meet in person!

In Service, our St. Vincent de Paul members and Stephen ministers have been on the frontlines serving those most hit by the pandemic. Our Soupremes, Night Shelter Volunteers, Mercy Care Ministry, and IOH Ministries are among those who continue to serve the less fortunate. Many other ministry leaders are finding creative ways to meet in person or virtually.

And in Treasure, you have continued to support the community with on-line giving, mail-ins, and the collection basket.

Our community here at OLA is alive and well due to your strong faith and values! I thank you.

And yes, during this Christmas season and looking beyond, I pray for your health and happiness, and the vaccine! Jesus is our hope as the Star shone over Jesus may our light shine forth to all.

Yours in Mary, our Mother,

Father Jim, Pastor
