Music Ministries
Because the liturgy is the most important work of the Church and the heart of our parish life, OLA’s Worship Ministries invite parishioners to join in this sacred service. These ministries offer opportunities to pray together, prepare and support our liturgies, and assist in their reverent celebration. Through their dedication and gifts, our volunteers help make each liturgy a vibrant expression of our faith.
If you have questions about an individual ministry, please contact the ministry leader listed below, our Director of Music & Liturgy, Jake Mappes, jmappes@olachurch.org, or the Pastoral Council Commission Ministry Head, Jocelyn Ralston, at PC-Worship@olachurch.org.
Adult Choir
This choir minister primarily at the Sunday 11:30am Liturgy as well as Major Feasts and Solemnities. Rehearsal and warmup begin promptly at 11:00am in the upstairs music room.
Adult Cantors
Cantors help lead our parish in prayerful song at Mass. By singing the hymns and the responsorial psalm, they encourage the assembly’s full, active participation in the liturgy.
Teen Choir (6th - 12th Grade)
All middle and high schoolers are invited to sing at the 5:30pm Mass each week. Call time is 5:00pm in the choir area of the sanctuary. No prior musical experience necessary to serve in this important liturgical role.
Children's Choir (1st - 5th Grade)
ll 1st through 5th grade school students are invited to join the OLA Children’s Choir! This choir sings 1-2 times per month at the 9am Mass.
Rehearsals are held on Mondays from 4-5pm in the Choir Room (2nd floor of church). OLA School students are collected by a Safe Environment trained individual at the end of carpool at 3:35pm. A snack and games are provided until rehearsal begins.
