Youth Ministry
(3rd - 12th Grade)

Youth Ministry at OLA

Our Lady of the Assumption offers a vibrant Youth Ministry program designed to help young people grow in faith, build friendships, and discover their place in the Church. Through age-appropriate gatherings, service opportunities, prayer, and fun, our youth are invited to encounter Christ and live as His disciples.

Kids Club (Grades 3–5)

Kids Club is a faith-based program that helps children deepen their relationship with Jesus and learn what it means to live as young Catholics. Meetings include games, crafts, prayer, and lessons that bring faith to life in fun and engaging ways. Kids Club also introduces students to service by giving them opportunities to help others and grow in generosity.

Kids Club does NOT replace Families Forming Disciples for faith formation/sacramental preparation.

Edge (Middle School)

Edge is a dynamic ministry for 6th–8th graders that helps middle school youth explore their faith in a welcoming, energetic environment. Each Edge night includes community-building games, relevant teaching, small group discussion, and prayer. Our goal is to give students a safe space to ask questions, encounter Christ, and form lasting friendships grounded in faith.

Life Teen (High School)

Life Teen is a ministry for high school students centered on the Eucharist and a deep relationship with Christ. Through weekly gatherings, small groups, retreats, and service opportunities, teens are encouraged to grow in faith, community, and leadership. Life Teen helps young people live their Catholic faith with joy and courage in their daily lives.

Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training

The Archdiocese of Atlanta is committed to helping children and young people learn and grow in a healthy and safe environment. OLA Parish complies with diocesan safe environment policies and procedures.

Training for Children

In accordance with the U.S. Bishop’s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the program Protecting God’s Children – Teaching Touching Safety (commonly referred to as “Virtus”) is used in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade participate in a safety lesson in their first year and once they move up to the next grade group.

Training for Adults

The Safe Environment training for Adults of the Archdiocese of Atlanta includes training in how to recognize, prevent and report abuse. All employees, and volunteers who regularly work with minors, receive this initial training, as well as ongoing training and background screening. The Code of Conduct, Sexual Abuse Policy, Ministerial Standards for Clergy, Educators and all  Working with Children and Vulnerable Individuals, Social Media Policy as well as the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People are available at the diocesan website at www.archatl.com.  An overview of the children’s training, parent guide, and lesson plans are also available on the diocesan website. Click here for VIRTUS safe environment information.

Through Worship, Education, and Service we continue to grow in our relationship with God and one another through Jesus Christ,
in the spirit of Mary, our Patroness.
